Our Philosophy On Value Creation

At InnovaXion, we take a holistic approach towards value creation, looking at the totality of a business, much like a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) physician, as oppose to a piece-meal approach of a Western specialist doctor. This reduces the risk of treating the symptoms, rather than addressing the cause. Our solutions are not derived from a single source or standard formula.

The combination of our peoples' diverse disciplines and backgrounds enable us to look at each company from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The result is a total integrated solution, customized to achieve the objective/ s of each situation.

Having a good plan or solution is only a third of the battle won. Poor execution is often a common cause of failure in corporate development work. Therefore, to increase the chances of success, our policy is to be actively involved by partnering with management in the execution of the plans we designed. Another critical success factor is assembling the "right' team. Therefore, in forming our team to solve clients’ problems, we will not hesitate to look beyond our own people and strategic partners to recruit the right members.

Our Thoughts On Value Creation

In today's internet speed/ technology world, not only are things moving a lot faster, businesses and even industries are being disrupted frequently. No longer it is safe to assume your business will be around tomorrow in the same shape or form.

Digitization, the web and technology in general will affect almost every industry to various extent. Experts are already forecasting the IoT (internet of things) will revolutionize tranportation, homes, cities, healthcare, energy and infrastructure management etc. in the near future.

What is the implications for businesses? It means the old ways of trying to improve things through incremental steps is no longer enough to save the day. Today's businesses have to dig deep, and look at value creation rather than value-add. Value-adding won't cut it anymore. Entire businesses or even industries can be marginalized or even decimated by a more efficient and effective competitor/ s with revolutionary ways of serving customers. Take a few examples, almost overnight, taxi industry all over the world has to contend with taxi booking app; while print media industry wakes up to the explosion of online media, and retailers nowadays not only face domestic competitors, but every online retailer in the world.

Some of the areas that can help "old-style" entrepreneurs and businesses start to feel their ways to the brave new world are:

  • Re-examine business plan, models and strategy in relations to the new competitive and tech trends.

  • Re-look at organization structure to see its relevance to today's needs.

  • Inculcate corporate culture that forsters value creation, especially the kind of values that allow individual and collective creative genius to thrive.

  • Build competitive edge that are not easily replicable eg. intangibles that unleash every employee's innovative and entrepreneurial talent.

  • Keep up with new technologies that can create values for customers; give you global reach; leapfrog current heavy cost structures,; utilize a great deal less resources etc.

  • Think Big - focus on sizeable markets and scalable models.

  • Think global -  the old way of starting small and slowly grow into a MNC is outdated. From the start, plan for global operations.
